Why We Won U.S. News & World Report’s Best Nursing Homes Award

Everyone appreciates a pat on the back, and at The Oaks at Denville, we’re no exception. We’re proud to be recognized as a Best Nursing Home by U.S. News and World Report! We’re even prouder of what that recognition means for our residents.

With an overall rating of 5 out of 5 and top ratings for both our short-term care and long-term services, our resident care and outcomes exceed national averages in nearly every category.

Our Track Record in Rehabilitation

After a sudden illness, fall or surgical procedure, it can take a little extra time to regain your strength and get back to feeling like you did before. A supportive community and effective treatment plan can help you get there faster.

When you’re at The Oaks at Denville, you’ll get three times more time with physical therapists than most rehabilitation centers in the state, and four times more than the national average. That translates into a stronger chance of meeting your progress goals, going home on schedule and avoiding injuries.

Speaking of injuries and patient safety, we have an excellent record when it comes to fall prevention —  higher than both the state average and the national average.

Our therapists also make a habit of aiming above the bar. Not only do evaluations show our patients consistently receive appropriate care, but they also often receive more than the minimum amount of therapy recommended for their condition.

That may be why, after a stay in our short-term rehabilitation community, 73% of patients are able to return home. That’s 20% higher than the national average, which means two very important things: We have a very high rate of success for rehabilitation, and you’ve got a great chance of returning home and regaining independence when you get care here.

Our Long-Term Residents Benefit, Too

Even when abilities begin to fade or health problems slow them down, we believe our senior residents can thrive with quality care that promotes independence. In fact, our residents are more likely than others across the nation to maintain their ability to complete common activities on their own.

Our exceptional nursing staff deserves a heaping share of credit for our residents’ quality of life. Our nurse staffing ratio exceeds national standards, and we have nearly twice as many highly credentialed registered nurses on staff as most facilities across the nation.

We view attentive care as an absolute must; our nurses’ careful attention is one reason less than 1% of our residents have pressure ulcers or bed sores (compared to more than 7% nationally and more than 8% among other New Jersey communities).

Other measures like emergency room visits and hospitalizations below national averages affirm our attention to quality care and patient safety.

See the Rankings in Action

We know ratings and reviews from trusted resources are incredibly valuable to future residents and their families when they’re looking for a skilled nursing community or rehabilitation center for a loved one. At the same time, we know numbers only tell part of the story.

That’s why we invite you to come to visit us at The Oaks at Denville. Meet our team, ask lots of questions, and get a stronger sense of the enriching and engaging lifestyle we offer residents, whether it’s for a brief moment or for years to come.
